I am a licensed psychotherapist with a private practice in Aptos, California. I offer holistic psychotherapy with an emphasis on working through symptoms of post-traumatic stress (PTSD) and Complex PTSD. The two primary modalities I integrate into my practice are Somatic Experiencing®, a gentle way of restoring nervous system dysregulation, and the Neuro-Affective Relational Model™, which helps to understand trauma in terms of our environmental attachment relationships and how they have influenced our sense of sense of self and identity. Holism is a concept that allows us to see and be viewed as more than just the various parts of ourselves, and more than the symptoms that might bring us to therapy. Holistic psychotherapy cares for the mind/body/spirit connection, and acknowledges people in the fullness of who they are as individuals as well as their cultural identity. My aim is to be inclusive of the diverse range that constitutes the human experience. Working holistically also means that I draw from a variety of psychological theories and view the therapeutic process from a number of perspectives that span from practical to mystical.

My approach works with a range of individuals and psychological presentations, and I will make appropriate referrals if my clients need extra support that I am unable to provide, or treatment that is out of my scope of practice. That said, the following are areas of interest and experience, but to which my services are not limited:

Alternative lifestyles and diversity issues

Anxiety and Depression

Issues of sexuality and sexual diversity

Parent/child dynamics

Trauma and attachment

Women’s issues

Adolescents and issues of identity, separation,

   and individuation
